The 2024 season didn’t go according to plan for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Despite having many of the same players and coaches in place from the prior year when they went 9-8, the Jaguars’ record fell to 3-14.
Doug Pederson was fired from his post as head coach, as was GM Trent Baalke, as the team is hoping to start over in 2025 and get back on track.
They’ve already hired Pederson’s replacement, recently naming Liam Coen as their head coach, but they haven’t found Baalke’s yet.
However, the team is conducting interviews for their open GM role, and the team recently posted on X that they interviewed Chad Alexander as a potential candidate.

Alexander is the assistant GM for the Los Angeles Chargers, and he’s received a lot of acclaim and attention for what he’s done in his first year with the team.
He’s been in the league for 26 seasons, spending time with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens, holding many roles during his tenures with both teams.
Alexander might be looking for an upgraded title, and with the Jaguars needing all the help they can get, this might be a great fit for both parties.
Trevor Lawrence was viewed as one of the best quarterback prospects in NFL history when the Jaguars drafted him, but they haven’t been able to capitalize on his potential yet.
A lot can change with a new head coach and GM, and if Coen is the right coaching fit, a GM like Alexander might also be what this team is looking for.
