The Dallas Cowboys needed some help for their pass rush.
That’s what happens when you trade away a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate who never had fewer than 12 sacks in a season.
To fix their predictable woes after parting with Micah Parsons, the Cowboys have turned to a former No. 1 overall pick.
Jadeveon Clowney is, hopefully, the answer to this issue, and he’s gearing up to make his Dallas debut with a new jersey number.

Clowney hasn’t lived up to the sky-high expectations fans and analysts had for him as the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.
Yet, he’s been a dependable pass rusher for most of his career.
Last season, playing for the Carolina Panthers, he still made an impact with 5.5 sacks.
Now, he was the best pickup the Cowboys could find at this point in the season.
Of course, he’s not going to have the same impact that Parsons had, and Dallas could’ve avoided this situation by just signing the All-Pro to a contract extension when they could have.
But that’s all water under the bridge, so the Cowboys can only hope that they have made the right choice now.
Clowney can still play at a high level, and he will provide coordinator Matt Eberflus with an experienced veteran who can get to the quarterback.
Whether that will be enough to fix the defense after two dismal outings remains to be seen.
