Trade deadline acquisition Jack Flaherty was supposed to take the mound for the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
That won’t be the case, though, because he was scratched.
When asked which part of his body was affected, he declined to enter into any specifics and gave a vague response.
“Jack Flaherty on why he was a late scratch from his start tonight: ‘Sometimes you just don’t bounce back the way you want to.’ He said this repeatedly, did not specify what didn’t feel right,” MLB insider Chelsea Janes tweeted.

Flaherty has a history of shoulder injuries, but it’s impossible to know what is ailing him if he or the team refuse to provide any information.
For now, Dean Kremer will take the mound on Wednesday.
The most concerning development is that Flaherty couldn’t take the mound with seven days of rest.
There might be something bad brewing for the Orioles, but it’s too early to say anything.
In his last start, Flaherty conceded seven runs in three innings against the San Diego Padres.
That outing made his ERA with the Orioles jump all the way up to 7.07.
Prior to that game, he had two solid starts with Baltimore.
For the season as a whole, Flaherty owns a rather disappointing 4.73 ERA in 123.2 frames.
When healthy, he is capable of being a solid mid-rotation starter.
Health, however, has been a problem for him in recent seasons.
Hopefully the O’s, the best and most exciting team in the American League, don’t have to go the rest of the season without their trade acquisition.
