The New England Patriots are transitioning to a new era.
As such, they’ve had to make some tough decisions.
With that in mind, they chose to part with veteran safety Jabrill Peppers.
Not many people saw that move coming, given that he was a well-established part of the defense.
However, he’s not letting it get the best of him.
If anything, he knows he can land on his feet and make an impact for another team, which is why he took to social media to express his confidence with a succinct message.
“Going on 9 years in this league. I’ve had 7 HCs & 6 DCs lol. There is no scheme you can place me in where I won’t find a way to be effective,” Peppers wrote on X.

Peppers had $4.32 million guaranteed remaining on his contract for his fourth season with New England.
The Patriots chose to keep 2025 fourth-round pick Craig Woodson and sixth-year pro Jaylinn Hawkins atop the depth chart at safety, backed up by Kyle Dugger and Dell Pettus.
Peppers made a name for himself with his physicality and ability to stop the run.
He looked like a seamless fit for head coach Mike Vrabel’s defensive system, but he reportedly fell behind Hawkins and Woodson in the final weeks of training camp.
Peppers started the preseason finale, a game when most starters didn’t suit up, so perhaps the writing was already on the wall.
In 99 NFL games (85 starts), he has 511 combined tackles, seven interceptions and 5.5 sacks.
He’s about to turn 30 years old, so he should have something left in the tank, and it shouldn’t take long before he makes his way to another team looking to add veteran depth.
