The Oklahoma City Thunder have become the most dominant team in the Western Conference and are now about to battle to win a championship.
They are so close to finally reaching their biggest goal and have no intention of slowing down now.
Speaking with OKC Thunder Wire, Isaiah Hartenstein talked about his team and how they now have to prove themselves on the biggest stage in professional basketball.
“I think in the playoffs, you always have to prove yourself again. We’re not a team that wants anything given to us. We want to go out and conquer, go out and hunt. For us, it doesn’t matter what happened before. It doesn’t matter even in a playoff series, it doesn’t matter what happened before,” Hartenstein said. “We’re always trying to go out there and try to hunt. Not be the hunted ones. Trying to go out there and hunt ourselves.”
When the season began, the Thunder said they were aiming for the top.
They were going to push all the way to the Finals, they said, no matter how many people doubted them.
What followed was a stellar 68-14 record and a surge through the postseason.
But the job is not done yet, and the Thunder know expectations are high.
If they fall short of their lofty goals, people will wonder why they weren’t able to seal the deal and get the job done.
The stakes have never been higher, and Hartenstein and his team are well aware of that.
They are ready for the fight, and, more importantly, they want it.
The Thunder might be the odds-on favorites to win the Finals, but the Pacers cannot be counted out, and OKC isn’t taking anything for granted.
