The Dallas Mavericks have gotten off to a fast start this season.
Through nine games they have a record of 6-3 and look like Western Conference contenders once again.
When looking at the Mavericks, everything they do starts with Luka Doncic.
The 23-year-old superstar has been on a roll to start this season.
It is hard to find a more deserving MVP candidate through the first month.
Doncic is averaging 36.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game this season.
He has scored at least 30 points in every game this season.

44 PTS | 3 REB | 5 AST | 1 STL
33 PTS | 5 REB | 11 AST | 2 STL

Doncic is also shooting 52% from the field this season, which would be a career-high.
The record for the most 30-point games to start the season is 23 set by Wilt Chamberlain.
While Doncic is still a ways off from that record he has shown no signs of slowing down this year.
MVP Favorite?
When looking at the NBA MVP award, most seasons it comes down to who is having the best statistical season on a good team.
Right now, Doncic should be the favorite based on those two factors.
He has been on a tear to start the year, and it will be interesting to see where his numbers can reach.
The other top MVP candidates include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, and Jayson Tatum.
Doncic has been on the shortlist of MVP candidates for the past few seasons.
But, he has never been able to win the award.
It will be interesting to see how far Doncic can take the Mavs this season.
After losing to the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals last year, can Dallas make it back?
Everything they do relies on the play of Doncic, so as long as he remains great the Mavericks have a chance.
