When fans think about talented quarterbacks over the last 30 years, two Green Bay Packers QBs make the list.
They are Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre.
However, both quarterbacks have a deep past with fans in Green Bay.
With Favre, he was the first quarterback to get the team back to the Super Bowl since 1967.
He also won that Super Bowl game and took the team back the following year.
With Rodgers, he too took the Packers to the Super Bowl and won it for Green Bay.
These things are why the two quarterbacks are beloved by their fanbase.
However, these two quarterbacks are looking the same and not all those similarities are good ones.
Rodgers Did To Jordan Love What Favre Did To Him
In 2008, Favre retired after losing to the New York Giants in the NFL playoffs.
However, he would come back during training camp to reclaim his old job.
But the problem was, the job was no longer his.
Rodgers took over the spot and wasn’t giving it back to the former starting quarterback.
This caused a huge divide with Packers fans, with some booing and cursing Rodgers.
However, it ended with Favre leaving via a trade and the new quarterback staying as the starter.
But fast forward to 2021 and we see that four-time MVP quarterback having a Favre like moment.
Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday.

It would cause rumors of a trade, a trade because Rodgers felt Green Bay wasted their first-round pick on Jordan Love.
Love was the guy to replace Rodgers, just like Rodgers replaced Favre.
So now he’s reenacting the things that happened during his starting years in Green Bay.
With his actions, the Packers fan base is split on Love, much like they were on him back in 2008.
Some People See Both Quarterbacks As Only One-Time Winners In Green Bay
Another thing NFL fans see with both quarterbacks is how they only won one Super Bowl.
With Favre, he has no more chances to win a Super Bowl.
However, Rodgers still has gas in the tank to take Green Bay back to another Super Bowl.
But until he does, he’s living in the same shadow of the former Green Bay all-star quarterback.
That shadow is of how both quarterbacks choke during the playoffs.
He literally only needed 2 or 3 1st downs to win it. He has become a Favre playoff clone only with better stats. Rodgers is a choker.

With that shadow looming over him, can he break the mould?
Honestly, he’s made it difficult to get from under that shadow.
He’s repeated a lot of the same things as his predecessor did before him.
Some of those things, like winning a Super Bowl and MVP titles, are good.
However, he’s repeated the bad things as well, like threatening to retire and turning some Packers fans against Love.
These things all make him the new Brett Favre in Green Bay to the fans.
All that’s left is a trade to the New York Jets and a retirement, only to come back with the Minnesota Vikings.
If these things actually happen, which never should, then he would be an exact clone of Brett Favre.
