The Buffalo Bills will kick off the season without their best defensive player, as Von Miller wasn’t able to recover in time for the season opener.
The veteran pass rusher will start this season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning he’ll miss at least the first four games of the campaign.
With that in mind, NFL insider Josina Anderson reached out to him to get his thoughts on the upcoming campaign and find out where he’s at physically right now.
Just got off the phone with #Bills LB Von Miller. He shared his view on being placed on the Reserve/ PUP List, missing the Monday Night opener vs the #Jets & on Brandon Beane being the best general manager:

The former Super Bowl champion stated that he just needed more time, and while it wasn’t his decision because he felt well physically, GM Brandon Beane thought it was best for him to take a breather and focus on his health overall.
Miller called Beane the best GM in all of sports and praised his ability to look at his players as a whole and not just from a football perspective.
The veteran pass rusher had been quite optimistic about his return date, repeatedly stating that he would be on the field for the season opener.
However, this is not his first major injury, and he’s not getting any younger, so it only made sense that his team tried to protect him and keep him fresh for when it actually counts.
Miller’s absence was a massive blow to their aspirations in the postseason.
And given how competitive and tough the AFC East Division figures to be next season, they can’t take any risks and be without him come playoff time.
