The Jacksonville Jaguars have put themselves in a tough position right now.
Doug Pederson’s team went from having one of the best records in the AFC to having the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts breathing down their necks for the divisional title.
That’s why having Trevor Lawrence missing games at this point in the season is a luxury they simply cannot afford.
Fortunately for them, Pederson recently admitted that even though Lawrence is still under the league’s concussion protocol, he’s making progress and could be cleared in time to play on Sunday (via Mike Garafolo).
Trevor Lawrence still in concussion protocol but progressing, per #Jaguars coach Doug Pederson.

Lawrence entered the protocol for a late hit in the win over the Texans.
Still, judging by the way the league has dealt with concussions this season and after the Tua Tagovailoa situation, it would be kind of shocking to see the No. 1 pick suiting up without missing a game.
Lawrence has been quite durable throughout the course of his career, even playing through an ankle sprain that seemed way more serious than it turned out to be.
He’s a fierce competitor and the kind of player who always wants to be on the field to try and lead his team to a win, so you know he’s going to try and push to be on the field when his team needs him the most.
Then again, concussions are no joke, and the team needs to do everything in their power to protect their franchise player, even if that means protecting him from himself.
