Along with all the blockbuster trades that went down this summer among some of the league’s best teams, which will almost certainly impact the outcome of the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season, the league is about to get a look at French phenom Victor Wembanyama.
Ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft, Wembanyama was getting a lot of hype for being arguably the best player coming into the league since LeBron James in 2003.
Only James has received the same level of hype and actually exceeded expectations after coming into the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he’s now a four-time NBA champion and the league’s all-time leading scorer.
As for Wembanyama, the international superstar made a name for himself overseas in France before becoming eligible to get drafted by a team in the league, which turned out to be Gregg Popovich’s San Antonio Spurs.
Ahead of his regular-season debut, people around the Spurs have made their fans that much more excited, claiming the rookie does something multiple times a day that they’ve never seen a basketball player do, via ESPN NBA and ClutchPoints.
"People around the Spurs who watch [Victor Wembanayma] say that he does 2 or 3 things every day that you've never seen a basketball player do before."

As long as he can stay healthy and live up to expectations, Wembanyama could be the next NBA superstar who demands attention from not only Spurs fans but basketball fans in general.
Being an inch shorter than Hall of Famer Yao Ming and having a game like Kevin Durant is enough to turn heads in the league, but he’s got to live up to that hype on a nightly basis, which is a tall task, to say the least.
