Over the past couple of years, Ben Simmons has gone from an NBA star to a forgotten role player in the league, as he has seemingly disappeared from the limelight ever since the Philadelphia 76ers traded him to the Brooklyn Nets.
Fortunately for Simmons, he has started to turn things around this season, as he leads the Nets in assists per game with 6.7 (8th in the NBA) and is averaging 10.8 rebounds per game to go along with 6.5 points per contest.
Although Simmons isn’t in contention for an All-NBA team or an All-Star bid this season, he seems to be trending in the right direction, which is great news for Brooklyn.
Unfortunately, Simmons appears to be dealing with an injury once again, with the veteran battling some nerve irritation issues on the left side of his body.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Simmons, who has already missed the last three games, will be forced to miss some more time.

This is an unfortunate turn of events for the Nets, who seemed to be putting something together with Cam Thomas becoming one of the best scorers in the league and Simmons getting back to form as a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court.
Thomas is dealing with an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks, while Simmons’ nerve issues could keep him out for an extended period of time, considering there was no timetable given.
The Nets are sitting at .500 currently with a record of 5-5.
