According to many reports, the Los Angeles Lakers have been working hard to create a deal to sign Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.
The Lakers definitely want Murray, but will they get him?
Jovan Buha was on the latest episode of Late Night Lake Show and said that the Lakers have presented Atlanta with the best offer they’ve heard for Murray.
“I wouldn’t say a final offer has been made. But the Lakers have made up to this point, the best offer that Atlanta has received for Dejounte,” Buha said.

Despite this, Buha doesn’t believe a trade is guaranteed and even said that LA has less than a 50% chance of landing the star.
The specifics of a proposed deal aren’t known but it likely includes a couple of draft picks as well as D’Angelo Russell and maybe some other players.
If the Hawks aren’t going to get a better offer, why hasn’t Murray already packed his bags and headed to the West Coast?
Perhaps the Hawks are planning to ride out the rest of the season with the roster they have now, even though the combination of Trae Young and Murray hasn’t resulted in as many wins as imagined.
Or maybe they think another better deal will be given to them right before the upcoming trade deadline.
Buha noted that the Lakers are often forced to pay a premium on all trade deals because of their legacy and prominence in the league.
But they are apparently willing to work through that and give the Hawks something substantial.
However, will it be substantial enough?
The trade deadline is now less than two weeks away so in a matter of days we will know if Murray remains in Atlanta or moves to Los Angeles or another part of the NBA.
