With the 2024 NFL Draft set to begin on April 25, there’s been much speculation about quarterback-needy teams potentially trying to trade up in the draft to get one of the top prospects at the position.
One of the teams more than likely attempting to trade up in the draft to get a quarterback is the Las Vegas Raiders, who don’t seem to have much faith in Aidan O’Connell and don’t view Gardner Minshew as a long-term option under center.
That said, the Raiders could be a team to watch in terms of trying to put a trade package together to intrigue one of the teams at the top of the draft to make a deal on draft day or before.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, he sees the Raiders as the more likely team compared to the division-rival Denver Broncos to trade up in the upcoming draft in order to bring in a young quarterback.
“The Raiders probably make the most sense in getting a quarterback,” Rapoport said. … “It feels like the Raiders with Antonio Pierce. The urgency is there from the head coach. Getting a quarterback makes sense because whatever happens this year, if you get a guy, you can at least say like we got a guy for the next 10 years. I don’t know where it’s going to be, and to me, it’s going to be pretty hard to trade up, but I think they’ll give it a shot.”

A lot can happen between now and draft day, so the Raiders’ stance on wanting a young quarterback to develop may change over the next four weeks.
However, if there’s a chance to reunite Pierce with Jayden Daniels, the team might go all in to make it happen.
