The Minnesota Vikings already have a brilliant offensive mind calling the shots, so they needed someone else to take care of the other side of the field.
They brought in Brian Flores to do so, and it’s definitely paid off.
The former Miami Dolphins head coach has opposing teams chasing ghosts with his trickery and dynamic schemes and formations, and the Vikings currently have one of the top defenses in the league.
Of course, Flores’ work with the Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers already showed his prominence as a great defensive mind, which is why it’s not much of a surprise to see him gauge plenty of interest as a potential head coaching candidate.
However, it won’t be that simple.
According to Dan Graziano of ESPN (via The Purple Persuasion), Flores is currently one of the ‘buzziest’ assistant coaches in the league and multiple teams should be interested in hiring him.
Per @DanGrazianoESPN, @Vikings DC Brian Flores is "the buzziest" coordinator in the league working their way to the head-coaching carosel.
Despite Flores' name being floated around, Graziano is hesitant he'll get a HC job nest season due to the pending lawsuit against the #NFL.… pic.twitter.com/jWBtx7gpUK

Nevertheless, he still has a pending lawsuit against the NFL over apparent racial discrimination, so it’s hard to envision a team hiring him to lead the way for the time being.
But from a football perspective, the former New England Patriots assistant coach has already earned his stripes and proved that he should get another opportunity to be the main guy and be a head coach again.
