Insider Says 1 Candidate ‘Goes Back Years’ With Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys marked the end of an era by parting ways with head coach Mike McCarthy after five years following a disappointing 7-10 season.

As the search for a new head coach begins, intriguing candidates have emerged, including Colorado coach and former Cowboys player Deion Sanders, and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Moore’s potential return to Dallas carries particular intrigue, as his connection to the organization goes back a long way.

The strong bond between Moore and quarterback Dak Prescott particularly resonated with owner Jerry Jones, who saw immense value in their working relationship before Moore left.

“From what I was told again inside the organization, Jerry never fully like got over that, was still kind of he liked Kellen. He really wanted to keep Kellen, and he especially prized the relationship that Kellen had with Dak Prescott. Well, now he’s got another opportunity to circle back,” Robinson said.

Now, after gaining more valuable experience as offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Chargers and Eagles, Moore appears better positioned than ever to step into a head coaching role.

Robinson mentions Moore’s evolved approach to offensive strategy, noting his ability to craft balanced schemes that effectively merge running and passing games, an element that occasionally seemed lacking during his previous stint with the Cowboys.
