The free agent class in Major League Baseball this offseason is loaded with talent and has already seen many big-name players change teams before the 2025 season.
While many players have already signed including Juan Soto, Corbin Burnes, Blake Snell, Max Fried, and Willy Adames, there are still plenty of big-name players available on the free-agent market.
Some of the players still available include Roki Sasaki, Alex Bregman, Pete Alonso, and many more.
MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal revealed why there are still so many good free agents left on the board.
“It’s the pace of baseball free agency, it goes at its own pace, there’s no deadline, there’s no clock,” Rosenthal said via Foul Territory on ‘X.’

Rosenthal ultimately revealed that the MLB free agency goes at its own pace, and that is just how it is.
Unlike other major sports, there are no deadlines or timers to get the deals done, so it naturally takes some time for players to sign.
Although it can be frustrating for fans, it can also keep the offseason interesting for the entirety instead of going dormant for weeks at a time.
The top available free agent Sasaki is meeting with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, and there is a potential that he will sign as early as later this week.
Teams often wait to see where a certain player goes before deciding the route they want to take with the other free-agent players, which can also cause a delay in free-agent signings.
The MLB offseason should continue to keep fans on their toes while they await the start of the 2025 regular season.
