The New Orleans Pelicans claimed a victory during their first game of the season the other night but they were without their biggest star.
Zion Williamson missed the 123-111 win over the Chicago Bulls due to illness but he will be back soon.
According to Evan Sidery, Williamson is set to make his season debut on Friday evening in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
This comes at the right time because New Orleans just lost a huge player and they want to see what Williamson is capable of.

Last season, Williamson put up a hefty 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
But more important than those numbers was the fact that he participated in 70 games, which is a career-high for the 24-year-old big man.
Injuries have followed Williamson throughout his career and there were major concerns that he’d never be healthy.
Thankfully, he stayed in good shape for nearly all of 2023-24 and only got hurt at the very end of the season.
The plan is that Williamson will remain in good health all season long in 2024-25.
Unfortunately, the injury bug has already bitten the Pelicans.
They lost Dejounte Murray during their first game and he will now be out for four to six weeks as he recovers from a fractured hand.
Fans are hoping that is the last injury that gets in this team’s way.
They have been trying to make an impact on the Western Conference for years and have their best chance now, as long as everyone stays on the court.
Williamson will make his presence known on Friday night and it could be the start of his most successful season yet.
