The Toronto Raptors could have decided to cut Bruce Brown loose this offseason but chose to stick with the 28-year-old guard.
Sadly, they might have to wait a while before Brown is ready to play again.
According to Michael Scotto, Brown recently had an arthroscopic surgical procedure on his right knee.
It’s too soon to tell if the surgery has fixed the knee problem, and Brown will be re-evaluated in three weeks, according to the Raptors.

Brown has bounced around a bit lately.
After winning a championship with the Denver Nuggets in 2022-23, Brown was then sent to the Indiana Pacers.
He spent 33 games with the Pacers before he was moved to the Raptors.
He averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game during his time in Toronto, and some people believe his output was hampered by the knee injury he is trying to resolve.
There was a lot of speculation about Brown at the start of the offseason, with multiple analysts predicting the Raptors could send him away to give themselves more salary cap space.
But they picked up his team option, and now Brown is set to return, but everything could be delayed because of this surgery.
Some fans wanted Brown to be in the starting lineup, but it seems like he will probably miss the start of the season or at least need more time before he’s fully healed and ready to play at 100 percent.
Hopefully, the surgery went well and Brown can now focus on his recovery.
