After showing some promise during the 2022-23 NBA season, following the aftermath of the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving trades, the Brooklyn Nets were thought to be a team that could potentially be on the rise with Mikal Bridges becoming the new face of the franchise.
Unfortunately, Brooklyn came back down to earth during the 2023-24 campaign, with the team simply unable to contend in the Eastern Conference, finishing the season with an ugly record of 32-50, which put them just outside of the Play-In Tournament.
Although the Nets have some talented players, like Bridges, Cam Thomas, and Dorian Finney-Smith, Brooklyn might need to make some more moves over the summer to get back in the playoff hunt in the East next season.
At this point in time, it seems as though Bridges is the only untouchable player on the roster as the team appears confident in him leading this team moving forward, but that hasn’t stopped the team from receiving trade interest from other teams around the league, according to Evan Sidery of Forbes.
Although the Nets have remained unwilling to trade Mikal Bridges, plenty of teams are preparing to target him once again this offseason.

With how quickly things can change in the NBA, it’ll be interesting to see if Bridges does become available at some point during the NBA offseason, as he could be the missing piece to a potential title contender.
It remains to be seen whether Bridges truly is a No. 1 option in the NBA or is better suited to be a second or third option.
Bridges played in all 82 regular-season games for the Nets during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, shooting 43.6% from the floor and 37.2% from beyond the arc.
