The Kansas City Chiefs and star kicker Harrison Butker recently agreed to terms on a major deal that will keep him in the fold in Kansas City for years to come.
A former seventh-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2017, Butker was signed to the practice squad of the Chiefs that same season and hasn’t looked back.
Now a three-time Super Bowl champion and the league’s former scoring leader, he is one of the most clutch players in the league.
That is why Kansas City just inked him to a four-year deal worth $25.6 million, which now makes him the highest-paid kicker in the league.
According to insider Aaron Wilson, who has released the details of Butker’s new contract, the contract itself averages out to $6.4 million per year with Butker getting $17.75 million guaranteed.
In the first year of the contract, he will earn a whopping $8.26 million.

The former Georgia Tech kicker deserves every penny for his on-field performance.
Still just 29 years of age, he holds the NFL record for most career field goals made in the Super Bowl (9).
He has a career field goal percentage of 89.1% and truly has put himself up there with Justin Tucker as arguably the best kicker in the league.
Without him in the fold, it is hard to say if Kansas City wins three Super Bowls in the last five years or not.
Now that the team is on the doorstep of a possible three-peat this year, he is going to have to be at his best.
