Months ago, Jerry Jones claimed that the Dallas Cowboys would be ‘all-in’ in the offseason.
That hasn’t been the case at all.
They let some of their key players leave, and they didn’t sign any of their stars to contract extensions.
That includes Dak Prescott, who’s now expected to play the entire season on the final year of his contract.
He could become a free agent in 2025.
Nonetheless, contrary to what has been shown thus far, it seems like the Cowboys are, indeed, all-in on Prescott; they just haven’t shown it yet (Via NFL on ESPN).
According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys have been vocal about their desire to commit to Prescott for years to come.

Fowler claims that negotiations have been rather passive, but he thinks it’s just a matter of time before things ramp up.
He believes that a deal could get more traction once Trevor Lawrence and/or Tua Tagovailoa get their new deals, adding that the Cowboys don’t want Prescott to test free agency at the end of the season.
The Cowboys are great at making money but not so much at getting deals done with their players.
They often play the waiting game, which only creates friction between them and their players, and they end up paying more than what they would’ve had to pay in the first place.
That’s a dangerous game to play, but sometimes, you just can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
