Anthony Edwards and his Minnesota Timberwolves are tired of coming up short in the playoffs, and they want a change.
They pushed far, but not far enough, last season, and Edwards isn’t content with doing the same thing again in the new season.
Because of that, he’s been working hard and plotting a path forward this summer.
Appearing on ESPN, Shams Charania summed up what Edwards has been doing during his offseason.
“This offseason, Ant’s number 1 focus a new area of development: the post up game, mid post, high post, low post, establishing a midrange game and the fadeaway shot from the post. He’s been watching a lot of tape of Kobe and MJ,” Charania said.

If Edwards can achieve the goals he is laying out for himself, the Timberwolves could be a truly fearsome squad in the new season.
He was already a threat and posted a strong average of 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists last season, shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from the three-point line.
There is no doubt that the T-Wolves wouldn’t have gotten as far as they had without Edwards, but it’s not enough for him.
His entire team has its sights set on going to the Finals, and anything less than that will be seen as a disappointment.
Additionally, if Minnesota doesn’t go further in 2025-26, there will be calls for them to change the roster.
Edwards himself might not be at risk of being traded, but there are other members of Minnesota who could be packing their bags.
He has said that he’s ready to take on a bigger role for his team, so the new season will give Edwards a chance to do that.
He is studying his game and the right players who came before him, and Edwards is hoping that it will have an impact on his team’s success.
