It’s time for Anthony Davis to have his first full season with the Dallas Mavericks, and all fans hope he can appear in every game.
Sadly, he is already dealing with an injury issue that could get in the way.
Thankfully, he is recovering.
According to Marc Stein, Davis is back on the practice floor for 5-on-5 play with his fellow teammates following eye surgery.
There are only a few weeks left before the season starts, so some Dallas fans are understandably nervous about what’s next for Davis.
“Mavericks All-Star big man Anthony Davis returned to the practice floor this week for some 5-on-5 play, [Marc Stein] has learned. It’s believed to be Davis’ first game-speed action since it emerged in July that he needed eye surgery to mend a detached retina,” Stein posted on X.

Davis was with the Mavericks for just nine games last season, and he put up 20.0 points and 10.1 rebounds during that time.
There is no doubt that Davis is going to be a massive part of the Mavericks’ plans in a post-Doncic era.
Unfortunately, everyone is familiar with his long history of injuries, both small and major.
Dallas has big plans for the new year, especially because Cooper Flagg could set the NBA world on fire during his rookie campaign.
But the team is already without Kyrie Irving, and they sometimes have bad luck with injuries.
Therefore, they are really hopeful that Davis is fully healed when the new season starts and that this eye injury is truly behind him.
He’s progressing and headed in the right direction, but there will always be worries floating around Davis.
