Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals were expected to be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC, with one of the most prolific offenses in the league led by superstar quarterback Joe Burrow, who recently signed a massive contract extension.
Unfortunately, the start of the season hasn’t gone as planned for Burrow and company, with the team losing the first two games of the 2023 campaign to the division-rival Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
As if that wasn’t bad enough for the Bengals, Burrow re-injured his calf in the loss to the Ravens, shedding doubt on his status for Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Even though there was a lot of doubt about whether he’d face the Rams on Monday night, Burrow seems to have defied the odds as he will play against Los Angeles, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

This development could be taken one of two ways, with Burrow pushing it and being in danger of making things that much worse by playing or the quarterback showing his toughness and willingness to put his health on the line to get his team back on track.
It’ll be interesting to see how things go on Monday night because Burrow playing in this game will be the top headline and could be a turning point in the season for the Bengals or may end in disaster, with things only getting worse for Cincinnati moving forward.
The Bengals are currently the favorites, but the Rams are better than expected this season, so it could turn out to be an interesting matchup in Cincinnati.
