Even though Chris Paul is one of the greatest point guards of all time, some people aren’t really sure if he will help the Golden State Warriors.
Since he joined the team, some have questioned how he fits into the squad’s rotation, especially with such a star guard, Steph Curry, already running things.
Brian Windhorst was on ESPN and he said what many people are thinking.
“The issue is the way Chris Paul plays is not the way the Warriors play,” Windhorst claimed.
He then added that the Paul “deal was made largely as a salary dump” to get rid of the contract that Jordan Poole had so the front office had more money to play with in the future.
“Making an assumption that it’s a huge addition – I’m not there yet,” Windhorst concluded.

There is no doubt that the team respects Paul.
There is also no doubt that he’s one of the most talented and smartest basketball players alive.
Despite that, Paul might not be a perfect fit for the Warriors.
The way he plays is different from what the Warriors have crafted over the years.
His skills, while plentiful, might come off as redundant or even unhelpful.
Yet, he could also be a second unit leader for Golden State, something they have never had before.
The idea of Paul being a bench player is a surprising one but it could really strengthen the Warriors and allow more rest for Curry.
The addition of Paul to the team could end up being a great move that helps them secure another championship.
But it also might be a concept that looks better on paper than in practice.
Warriors fans are waiting, nervously, to see how it all plays out.
