The New York Knicks have been one of the most active teams in the NBA this offseason, with the franchise fully aware of being in a championship window and getting aggressive in an attempt to upgrade the roster.
As a result, the team acquired Mikal Bridges in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets and then shockingly made a move to bring in Karl-Anthony Towns as the result of a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The move was surprising due to the timing, with the start of the regular season being right around the corner, but the Knicks felt it needed to be done, and as a result, Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo will start fresh in Minnesota.
Randle has seemingly been on the trading block for quite some time in New York and seems to be embracing his new city, but he has yet to make his debut for the Timberwolves during the NBA preseason.
However, that reportedly could be coming very soon.
“The hope and likelihood is that Randle will be debuting at some point next week,” NBA insider Shams Charania said, via NBA on ESPN.

With the Timberwolves coming off a trip to the Western Conference Finals, it is interesting they chose to shake things up by parting with Towns and adding DiVincenzo and Randle.
Only time will tell whether the trade works out for Minnesota, as it is a risk, especially with Randle’s injury history and not being the perimeter scoring threat that Towns is.
