The NFL general manager hiring cycle has almost officially begun.
With the regular season over, teams have started letting their front office personnel go and will look to bring in new leaders at the top of their respective organizations to build a better team than their predecessors.
There are already a few GM jobs open after the Carolina Panthers fired Scott Fitterer, while the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders fired their respective GMs earlier this season.
Teams will begin to curate a list of possible candidates to set up interviews, and Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz believes these 15 front-office executives will be the top choices for most teams:
- Adam Peters – 49ers assistant GM
- Ian Cunningham – Bears assistant GM
- Samir Suleiman – Panthers director of player negotiations
- Steve Radicevic – Bengals director of pro personnel
- Dan Morgan – Panthers assistant GM
- Mike Borgonzi – Chiefs assistant GM
- Alec Halaby – Eagles assistant GM
- Trip MacCracken – Jaguars director of player finance
- Dwaune Jones – Falcons assistant director of college scouting
- Brandon Hunt – Eagles director of scouting
- Quentin Harris – Cardinals VP of player personnel
- Dwayne Joseph – Raiders director of pro scouting
- Terrance Gray – Bills director of player personnel
- Chad Alexander – Jets director of player personnel
- Eliot Wolf – Patriots director of scouting

Unsurprisingly, most of these names come from organizations that have done a lot of winning recently, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and San Francisco 49ers.
The next step will be to see which teams hire new GMs first before a new head coach, or if they’ll make the hirings at the same time.
