The Major League Baseball offseason is in full swing as the top free agent Juan Soto of the New York Yankees signed a 15-year deal worth $765 million with the New York Mets.
Now that the Soto sweepstakes is over, the attention will turn to the other big-name free agents still yet to sign with a team.
One of those free agents is Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman.
MLB Insider Jon Heyman revealed three teams that are interested in signing Bregman this offseason.
“The Yankees are a possibility for Bregman, the Tigers maybe with A.J. Hinch there, and certainly the Astros,” Heyman said via B/R Walk-Off on ‘X.’

Bregman is 30 years old and came into the league in 2016 with the Astros and has played all nine seasons of his career with the team.
Heyman lists the Yankees, Detroit Tigers, and Astros as teams that are interested in signing Bregman this offseason, but he also doesn’t rule out the Boston Red Sox.
Bregman is one of the multiple free agents this offseason who have mentioned the willingness to switch positions next year if necessary.
The third baseman is open to the possibility of playing second base next season if that is where he would fit best with his future team.
In 2024, Bregman played in 145 games for the Astros where he batted .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs, and a .768 OPS.
It will be interesting to see if the Yankees pursue Bregman as they lost out on Soto and have a hole in their lineup at second base to fill.
