The Atlanta Falcons’ relationship with Kirk Cousins may be coming to an end.
Head coach Raheem Morris saw more than enough, and defeating the struggling Las Vegas Raiders was enough for Cousins to keep his job as Atlanta’s starting quarterback.
The Falcons didn’t only bench him to now start rookie Michael Penix Jr., but they also reportedly want to move on from him.
With that in mind, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler recently revealed two teams that could express a serious interest in pursuing the veteran QB this offseason: the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

The Giants are likely to have either the No. 1 or No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they’re expected to use it on a quarterback, either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.
If they draft Sanders, their chances of going after Cousins might be narrower, but Ward could use a mentor.
The Giants also could draft two-way star Travis Hunter instead and roll with Cousins at QB for a year or two.
As for the Browns, Cousins has ties to head coach Kevin Stefanski, who was his offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings.
Cousins thrived in Stefanski’s offense, so that could be a smooth transition for him.
On top of that, the Browns desperately need someone who won’t demand a lot of money, as their salary cap situation is far from ideal, and they’re already paying millions to Deshaun Watson.
Whatever the case, the Falcons are reportedly expected to release Cousins before March 17, when his $10 million roster bonus hits.
Despite his struggles this season, it shouldn’t take long before he finds a new home.
