The NFL Draft is not just a time when star prospects become NFL players.
It is also a time when NFL veterans get traded.
Last season we saw A.J. Brown and Marquise Brown both traded on draft day, and now we should see more deals like that this year.
According to Ari Meirov, eight veterans could be traded this weekend.
Among the veteran players to watch on the trade market this weekend:
– DeAndre Hopkins
– Dalvin Cook
– Trey Lance,
– Budda Baker
– Jonah Williams
– Austin Ekeler
– Devin White
– Cedrick Wilson— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) April 27, 2023
The one name on this list that has been talked about a lot is DeAndre Hopkins.
He has been rumored to be traded all offseason, and it may finally happen during the draft.
To go along with Hopkins, his teammate Budda Baker is also looking to be traded.
Baker is one of the best safeties in the league and he could make a massive impact on a contending team.
Another name that stands out on this list is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance.
He might be the odd man out in San Francisco as they are expected to move forward with Brock Purdy as their starter.
It will be interesting to see what teams would want Lance, and how much he would cost in a trade.
Yet, the 49ers have publicly said they are not openly shopping Lance.
Overall, any of these deals going down would be a major move.
These rebuilding teams are willing to move veterans for more draft picks.
Some of the best trades are made on draft night, and that could be the case again this weekend.
