The NFL is in for another cycle of head coaching hires once the 2023 NFL season is over, and there figures to be multiple positions open.
The Las Vegas Raiders already fired Josh McDaniels after another poor start, though interim head coach Antonio Pierce has managed to lead the team to two consecutive wins.
There are also teams like the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers that could look to make a change given they’ve got young quarterbacks who maybe need a new voice in the room.
The hottest name that could potentially enter the market is Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh who is currently serving a suspension for his involvement in a sign-stealing scandal.
Harbaugh has been a popular name for years given his connections and experience, but has stayed in the collegiate ranks.
However, there seems to be much more smoke about Harbaugh making his return to the NFL via Albert Breer of The MMQB.
“There are a lot of NFL people that think Jim Harbaugh is going to be eying the NFL again,” Breer said.

Breer notes that the Raiders, Bears, and Panthers all could be potential landing spots for the Michigan head coach should he decide to jump back into the professional waters.
Harbaugh’s got extensive experience as both a player and coach and would instantly bring some credibility and gravitas to any team that hired him.
For now, though, it remains to be seen whether or not Harbaugh would actually accept an offer though the developing situation back at Michigan could end up determining which route he goes.
