With the NFL schedule coming out Thursday, Indianapolis Colts fans are ready for the season to start as soon as possible.
The deadline to bring the roster down to 53 players is September 5 at 4:00 pm eastern time.
As always, there will be some tough decisions to be made prior to the 2020 NFL season, but the Colts have had a tremendous offseason:

With May 11 being the start date of the Rookie Football Development, the Colts should be able to learn more about their rookies.
For now, here are the five rookies who are on the bubble.
The Rookies
1. Dezmon Patmon: Wide Receiver (Washington State), No. 212 – 6th Round
Patmon is ready to contribute to this team and has the potential to be another deep threat for Philip Rivers in 2020.
Dezmon Patmon is a sneaky good pick for the #Colts. Pretty similar to Michael Pittman. Big body, very athletic for his size.

2. Rob Windsor: Defensive Tackle (Penn State) – No. 193, 6th Round
Windsor had a lengthy but strong career as a Nittany Lion.
His junior season was his highlight, as he amassed 10 tackles for loss, including 6.5 sacks.
3. Jordan Glasgow: Linebacker (Michigan) – No. 213, 6th Round
Glasgow has two brothers who are active NFL players, and Jordan looks to join Graham (Broncos guard) and Ryan (Bengals defensive tackle).
As Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded tackler, he has a decent chance.
4. Isaiah Rodgers: Cornerback (UMass) – No. 211, 6th Round
Rodgers, who could be a backup cornerback for the 2020 Colts, improved his performance throughout college and finished with four interceptions in his senior season.
The winner of the Lou Groza Award for the nation’s top kicker may be able to beat out the Colts’ second kicker of 2019, Chase McLaughlin.
The Veterans
1. QB Chad Kelly – drafted by Broncos in the 7th round of the 2017 draft
Kelly spent his first two NFL seasons with the Broncos and then signed with the Colts in 2019.
He has yet to throw a pass in an NFL game.
2. RB Jordan Wilkins – drafted by the Colts in the 5th round of the 2018 draft
With Jonathan Taylor ready to take over as the second running back in Indianapolis and Nyheim Hines being a strong pass-catching back, Wilkins could be on his way out.
3. WR Ashton Dulin – undrafted in 2019
He was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection for Division II Malone University of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
The athletic Dulin caught two passes for 17 yards and had three kick returns for an impressive 90 yards for the Colts in 2019.
4. WR Daurice Fountain – drafted by Colts in the 5th round of the 2018 draft
The Northern Iowa product had to undergo ankle surgery in August 2019, but he signed a one-year free agent tender in March.
5. WR Marcus Johnson – undrafted in 2016
In 2019, he caught just 17 passes on 33 targets for two touchdowns, but the Colts did sign him to a one-year deal.
5. DE Gerri Green – drafted by the Colts in the 6th round of the 2019 draft
Green was on the practice squad for both the Colts and Patriots, but he is back for his second stint in Indianapolis.
6. LB Matthew Adams – drafted by the Colts in the 7th round of the 2018 draft
Although Adams had fewer missed tackles in 2019, he did not have as many chances to make tackles.
He had 33 tackles and started five games in his rookie season, but had just 10 tackles in 2019.
7. LB Zaire Franklin – drafted by the Colts in the 7th round of the 2018 draft
Franklin took a step back from 2018 to 2019, as he had two fewer starts and 23 fewer tackles in his second NFL season.
8. DT Tyquan Lewis – drafted by the Colts in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft
Lewis, who is in the third year of his four-year, $4.36 million contract, went from two sacks and eight quarterback hits in 2018 to zero sacks and one quarterback hit in 2019.
9. CB T.J. Carrie
The 29-year-old veteran has five career interceptions and has played with the Raiders and Browns during his six-year NFL career.
He could make an impact for the 2020 Colts.
10. K Chase McLaughlin – undrafted in 2019
Will the starting kicker be McLaughlin or Blankenship?
The Colts signed Blankenship for a reason.
