The New York Giants are making no secret of their quarterback pursuit, with their interest in Shedeur Sanders becoming increasingly evident.
Head coach Brian Daboll’s recent interaction with Sanders at the Shrine Bowl caught everyone’s attention, from their casual dap on the field to intense discussions with general manager Joe Schoen on the sidelines.
These interactions seem to confirm earlier reports of Daboll spending “significant time” with the projected top draft pick, as the Giants organization leaves no stone unturned in their evaluation.
This transparent approach has drawn criticism, particularly from WFAN Sports Radio host Shaun Morash, who expressed concern over the Giants’ obvious courtship of Sanders while holding the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“You have now put yourself in a spot where if you’re the [Tennessee] Titans or [Cleveland] Browns, you can basically put the Giants in a spot where you have them dance like a dancing bear,” Morash said. “They’re obsessed with Shedeur Sanders and not hiding it, and I think that’s a big problem heading into the draft.”

The Giants front office made waves earlier in the season with their visit to Colorado to scout Sanders.
However, this scenario becomes complicated with the Titans at No. 1 overall and the Browns at No. 2 potentially in the market for a quarterback.
Now, these teams might leverage the Giants’ obvious interest in Sanders, potentially forcing them to pay a premium in draft capital to secure their target via trade.
Drawing parallels to the past, Morash likened the current situation to the era of former general manager Dave Gettleman, when the Giants’ draft intentions were similarly transparent to the rest of the league.
This openness in their player evaluation process could potentially impact their ability to execute their draft strategy effectively.
