The Charlotte Hornets are entering a new phase in the NBA, one where Michael Jordan is no longer the owner of the franchise.
It’s a new era for the organization, but their start to this said era is not a good one.
So far in their first five games, the Hornets have a 2-3 record following their most recent victory against the Indiana Pacers.
The Hornets veteran Gordon Hayward was the star of the show as he scored 23 points.
After the game, Hayward shared his views on his remarkable performance via ClutchPoints on Twitter.
“Some of the shots I was getting was workout in the summer time shots,” Hayward said.

There was a time when Gordon Hayward was an NBA All-Star level player.
However, due to several severe injuries, Hayward has failed to reach those heights again in his NBA career.
Well, this season Hayward is playing like an elite player.
It was evident from Hayward’s 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists performance against the Pacers.
For the season, the 33-year-old is averaging 16.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game for the Hornets.
The former ninth-overall pick has always been a good scorer, but it’s his health that has remained a huge point of concern for the Hornets.
Since joining the team ahead of the 2020-21 season, Hayward has not played more than 50 games in the regular season.
So far, Hayward has been available for the team in all five games.
