The Charlotte Hornets made quite a controversial decision in the offseason.
They brought back Miles Bridges on a one-year contract despite his ongoing legal turmoil and all the evidence against him.
That decision was met with anger and mockery by most NBA fans, especially considering he could still face more discipline — both legally and by the league.
Bridges has already served his suspension after missing all of last season, and he’s been quite good for them thus far.
However, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer and Real GM, he’s not going to be with the team next season (via NBA Central).

The report doesn’t state whether that decision has already been made by the team or by him.
Then again, it’s worth noting that Bridges was reportedly on the verge of signing with the Detroit Pistons shortly before his domestic abuse case made the news, so it seems like he was already ready to move on from the team.
Likewise, given some of his reported character issues and his ongoing situation, perhaps the franchise has decided to cut the cord and avoid any further P.R. nightmare by signing him to a big contract in the offseason.
Of course, that also raises questions about his immediate future.
The Hornets could be tempted to trade him to any interested bidder, assuming any other team is willing to get him right now.
Some believe he should’ve been out of the league for good after what he allegedly did, and that could be the case next season.
