The entire baseball universe was at the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ feet during the regular season.
Impressive winning streaks and elite play were the constant in almost every month.
They ended up compiling an awfully impressive 111-51 record, one of the best in the history of the game.
Yet, like the New York Yankees, the New York Mets and even the Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers failed miserably.
With so many wins and winning streaks, they lost three out of four games with the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series.
After 162 successful games, their season was marked by that four-game stretch in October that prevented them from going for the title.
Dodgers fans are still in denial, and don’t care about the number of regular season wins anymore as long as it is enough to guarantee their presence in October.
Memes are starting to make fun of the situation.

Dodgers Are The Regular Season Champs
It’s funny because the Dodgers may actually win 112 games or more next season, but fans will be mad anyway if the postseason results in another early-round exit.
The 2022 postseason, and the National League in particular, has been dominated by underdogs.
The Philadelphia Phillies were heavy underdogs in the Wild Card round and in the Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves, respectively.
They weren’t really favorites in their NL Championship Series matchup against the San Diego Padres either.
The Padres won 89 games in the regular season and the Phillies 87.
Yet, they were the ones playing the series for the pennant instead of teams with 100 or more wins such as the New York Mets, Dodgers, and Braves.
Is 2022 the year of the underdogs?
If so, the Houston Astros should be very careful.
