The Washington Commanders have flown under the radar lately.
They’re no longer the hottest story in the league like earlier in the season.
That, plus Bo Nix’s surge, made it seem like Jayden Daniels was no longer a lock to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Even so, Herm Edwards doesn’t feel that way.
Following the Commanders’ big win vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, Edwards argued that Daniels should be the clear-cut favorite to take the award home.

He gushed about how his play turned an ever-struggling franchise around.
Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with anything he said.
Daniels has had some special moments in his rookie season, with plenty coming down the stretch with games on the line.
He’s also beaten some very good teams, and he looks completely unfazed by the pressure, the opposition, and the situation.
Daniels sustained a rib injury earlier in the season that may have affected his play.
Despite not being close to 100%, he’s still been a stellar and perennial dual-threat.
The Commanders deserve credit for their moves on and off the field to get the team back on track, but Daniels also deserves a lot of that credit.
This team wasn’t supposed to be this good this quickly.
Now, they look like the last team you want to face in a one-game situation, and Daniels has been as good as advertised – if not better – after his Heisman-winning season at LSU.
