The Miami Heat have had busy offseason, but not necessarily good so far.
They lost both Gabe Vincent (gone to the Lakers) and Max Strus (gone to the Cavaliers) in free agency.
After seeing their NBA Finals starting backcourt leave, Heat fans had questions about the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season.
However, things changed earlier today after Damian Lillard made up his mind and requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Lillard has reportedly been in touch with Heat players in recent days, and Jimmy Butler has made it clear that landing the point guard is a No. 1 priority this offseason.
According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, via Hoop Central, the veteran swingman is pushing for this trade.
“Heat star Jimmy Butler has relayed to the team that Lillard is his No. 1 target, sources say.”

Adding Lillard is a dream for several teams around the league, but Lillard is reportedly keen on joining the Heat.
Miami just played in the 2023 NBA Finals, losing to the Denver Nuggets in five games.
After two Finals appearances and three Eastern Conference Finals, Miami could be one move away from reaching the bigger goal.
Lillard is seen as a player that can take this team to the next level and become champions for the first time since 2013.
More teams are reportedly keeping tabs on this situation, but the Heat are seen as the frontrunners to acquire Lillard’s services.
He’s one of the top players in the NBA, and the Heat will be a huge threat to the rest of the East if they land Lillard.
