During his time in the NBA, superstar Dwyane Wade was widely considered to be one of the best two-way players in the game, as he was a nightmare for opposing teams to contain on a nightly basis during the regular season and throughout the playoffs.
Even though the end of Wade’s playing career didn’t go as planned, as he bounced around the league a bit before deciding it was time to walk away, he was able to end it where it all began, with the Miami Heat.
Wade is considered one of the best shooting guards to ever play, ranking with fellow legends Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
He is now enjoying retirement while staying busy and relevant as an investor and businessman, as he is a part owner of the Utah Jazz and the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. He also recently was a broadcaster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
With Wade being a three-time NBA champion, part of multiple ownership groups, and inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, the Heat will honor one of their most popular and successful players with a statue outside their home arena, Kaseya Center.
That statue will be unveiled on Oct. 27, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

Other NBA players from Wade’s era have also been honored with a statue recently, including former Philadelphia 76ers superstar Allen Iverson, Dallas Mavericks icon Dirk Nowitzki, and Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers legend.
Wade could be joined by former teammates LeBron James and Chris Bosh with statues outside the arena if the franchise decides to honor two other superstars who helped it win two NBA titles.
