The Memphis Grizzlies were one of the hottest topics in the NBA this week.
After the team reportedly informed Dillon Brooks they won’t bring him back for next season, he was a hot topic around the league.
Brooks isn’t the most beloved player in the league, but within the roster, things appear completely different.
Desmond Bane defended his soon-to-be former teammate, revealing that the Grizzlies players have a lot of love for him.
“We all got a bunch of love for Dillon,” Bane said. “He’s one of the first guys in, last guys to leave. I don’t think it’s hard to see what type of competitor he is and what type of effort he lays down on the line every night. But things like this happen. It’s just part of the business. There’s no telling if he’ll be back with us or another team in the future but whatever happens I wish him the best.

The Memphis Grizzlies went from being a team that was considered a top contender in the West, to a team that quickly fizzled out in the playoffs.
Brooks caught a lot of criticism for that, becoming a villain in the league.
Brooks admitted that even if he returns to Memphis, he won’t change his personality.
Time will tell which team decides to bet on Brooks, but the Grizzlies reportedly won’t be one of those teams.
Brooks averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists with the Grizzlies this season.
He reportedly wants a bigger role on offense, which can be a challenge for any team looking to give him a new deal.
This summer will be interesting to watch with Brooks and where he lands.
