MLB will organize the fifth edition of the World Baseball Classic in March 2023.
Everything is set for the start of the competition, which will have a record 20 teams vying for the trophy.
The United States won the last edition in 2017 and have a stacked roster for 2023.
However, even with Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado and others, Team USA may not be the favorites to win.
The Dominican Republic, winners of the 2013 edition, have an incredible roster at their disposal.
Just look at some of the position players they have available.

That’s really an incredibly talented group of players.
Gary Sanchez could be the catcher, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is an elite first baseman.
Ketel Marte is an underrated option at second base, while uber-prospect Wander Franco and Jeremy Pena are rock-solid alternatives at shortstop.
The Dominicans Have Some Impressive Firepower When It Comes To Position Players
MVP candidates Jose Ramirez and Manny Machado are two elite third basemen, and if you add Rafael Devers, you have three excellent options.
You really can’t go wrong with any one.
The outfield is populated with talent: AL Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez and Starling Marte can play center, while Teoscar Hernandez, Eloy Jimenez, and Juan Soto are good options for the corners.
It’s an amazing group.
Not listed is the pitching staff, which could actually be one of the Dominican’s strengths.
There commits aren’t official, but if they can get Luis Castillo, Framber Valdez, Sandy Alcantara, Luis Severino, Cristian Javier, Freddy Peralta, they will gain a clear edge over the competition.
The Dominican Republic could have one of the most impressive rosters ever assembled at the World Baseball Classic.
