The Orlando Magic have been a part of the NBA since the 1989-90 season.
While they have been in the NBA for well over three decades, the Magic have yet to win their first NBA Championship in franchise history.
Moreover, considering the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway Jr., Gilbert Arenas, and Dwight Howard have been part of the franchise over the years, it makes it difficult to believe that the Magic are currently ringless.
Speaking of Gilbert Arenas, the former NBA star recently explained why Dwight Howard should be considered the GOAT of the Orlando Magic via Nightcap on Twitter.
“Howard’s resume is just bigger than Shaq’s in that jersey. The better player, of course, talent-wise, Shaq. But in that jersey, it’s Dwight,” Arenas said.

Shaquille O’Neal is viewed as the most dominant player of all time in the eyes of most NBA fans.
Keeping that in mind, Gilbert Arenas picking Dwight Howard as the Magic GOAT over Shaquille O’Neal is undoubtedly a controversial statement.
However, Arenas backed up his point by mentioning how Howard simply has a better resume as a Magic player.
Arenas believes that when their entire careers are compared, O’Neal undoubtedly surpasses Howard’s resume.
Howard played the first eight seasons of his career with the Magic, averaging 18.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.2 blocks per game.
Moreover, Howard earned six NBA All-Star appearances while donning the Magic jersey.
He also won three straight NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards from 2009 to 2011, and of course, he led the organization to the 2009 NBA finals, albeit losing in four games to the Los Angeles Lakers.
