There are a number of intimidating and promising trios in the NBA right now.
Teams often find more success when they have three powerful players leading them.
The league was rocked recently by the formation of a new trio: Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks.
But Gilbert Arenas doesn’t believe that’s the best trio in the league.
Speaking on “Gil’s Arena,” Arenas said that the Phoenix Suns lineup of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal is the greatest in the league.
Arenas’ claim proves, once again, the sort of expectations surrounding the Suns.
The hype for the team was sky-high last season but it got even higher in the summer when they added Beal.
They are now considered favorites to lead the West by many betting sites.
So, what happens if they don’t deliver on all this promise?
What happens if they don’t end up being the strongest trio in the league?
The Suns have gone all-in on this lineup and they have spent a lot of money and moved many assets to secure it.
There is no doubt they will be a good team but it remains to be seen if they’ll be the very best.
If they fall short, fans and analysts will immediately call on the team to be reworked because anything short of ultimate success will be seen as a failure by many.
Durant, Booker, and Beal are aware of that and they are ready to face and ignore the criticism as they play their first season together.
