The Philadelphia 76ers’ “Process” hasn’t exactly gone to plan.
This was an elaborate plan for this team to come up with a way to bring themselves out of being one of the worst teams in the league and turning into a contender.
While they’ve certainly done well enough in recent years to make it to the playoffs, the 76ers have yet to make it back to the NBA Finals.
It seems that every year, they’ve been a piece or two away from making a true splash in this league.
Joel Embiid has been a key cog and cornerstone of the organization.
If anyone is fit to lead this team moving forward, it’s Embiid.
He is a somewhat polarizing player in some analyst’s eyes, but Embiid’s standing is very clear to Gilbert Arenas.
Arenas recently talked about Embiid at length in a recent segment of his podcast, as shared by NBA Central on X.
He believes that Embiid is “probably” the best player in the NBA, and the only reason he isn’t seen in a similar light to Nikola Jokic is the league’s 65-game rule.

This 65-game rule was put in place by the league to effectively make teams play their best players in every game.
Players are only eligible for awards at the end of the season if they appear in at least 65 regular season games.
Embiid has dealt with a few injuries in recent seasons, effectively taking him out of the running for these awards.
He did win MVP in the 2022-2023 season, but that’s the only major accolade he’s taken home thus far.
