The 2023 NFL season did not go as expected for the New York Giants.
Despite coming off a surprising playoff win in 2022, the Giants took a step in the wrong direction last season, finishing the year with a 6-11 record.
This performance caused many around the league to question the future of this team, particularly the future of Daniel Jones.
The Giants did sign Jones to a four-year contract extension, but given his performance before his injury, there have been many reasons for concern about his long-term possibilities with the team.
While these conversations might have been just rumors at the time, it appears that talks are heating up about potentially replacing him.
Benjamin Allbright recently confirmed that he has not only heard the Giants are interested in quarterbacks but also confirmed a recent report from John Frascella.
Frascella indicated that the Giants were very interested in Jayden Daniels but have shifted their focus to J.J. McCarthy.

The Giants currently hold the No. 6 overall pick.
If they hold this position, they would likely have an opportunity to draft McCarthy, assuming another team doesn’t leapfrog them in the draft order.
The Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots are all expected to take quarterbacks, but unless something significant changes, the three quarterbacks projected to go off the board first are Caleb Williams, Daniels, and Maye.
In theory, this would leave McCarthy for the Giants, should they choose to go with a quarterback.
However, some analysts have recently indicated that a team like the Minnesota Vikings will trade up, perhaps with the Arizona Cardinals, which could again leave the Giants without their top quarterback option available.
