The New York Giants finished with a 9-7-1 record and a Wild Card spot in Brian Daboll’s first season as head coach.
The turnaround has been fantastic, and the Joe Judge days are long gone with Daboll in town.
However, their first-round matchup against the Minnesota Vikings will be no easy task, especially with the lack of playoff experience on the Giants roster.
Much of New York’s roster will be playing in their first career playoff game this weekend against the Vikings, and usually, that is a cause for concern.
However, Daboll doesn’t seem very worried about it.
Asked Brian Daboll about playoff experience. He called it “overrated.”
Recalls being on a staff where a QB in New England won a Super Bowl in his first playoff foray. That QB also happens to be the greatest in history — Tom Brady.

“Overrated” is the word Brian Daboll used.
He has a point, but Daboll went on to discuss his time on the New England Patriots staff.
When he was with the Patriots, there was a quarterback who won the Super Bowl in his first postseason trip — Tom Brady.
That’s a valid point from Daboll, although Daniel Jones is nowhere near the same stratosphere as Brady.
The Vikings and Giants faced one another on Christmas Eve, and the Vikings walked away with a win, 27-24.
In that game, Jones threw for 334 yards with one score and one interception, but Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson each went over the 100-yard mark.
The Giants played the Vikings close a few weeks ago, which is encouraging, although the playoffs are a much different ballgame for everybody involved.
We will see if the lack of playoff experience bothers the Giants, and these two teams will play on Sunday afternoon in Minnesota.
