The New York Yankees have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this year.
Each year the Yankees are expected to compete for a World Series.
So, when they do not, the New York media has a field day with them.
One player that has taken a lot of heat this season is Giancarlo Stanton.
The former NL MVP has not lived up to expectations this year.
According to Bryan Hoch, Stanton used the word “terrible” to describe his performance this season.
Giancarlo Stanton used the word "terrible" to describe his performance this season.
"(There's) a lot of things I've got to work and adjust on, but if you guys think I'm just showing up and going out there and not working, then I don't know what to tell you."

Stanton is aware that he has a lot to work on this offseason.
But his biggest issue has been staying healthy.
Stanton has played 97 games so far this season.
He is batting .188 with 24 home runs and 58 RBI.
Also, he carries the worst OPS of his career this season.
Stanton is still under contract in New York through the 2027 season.
In other words, the Yankees would have an impossible time moving him if they wanted to.
He is 33 years old and not getting any younger.
To think he will play full seasons from here on out is foolish.
But the Yankees at least need Stanton to play at a high level when on the field.
It will be interesting to see what type of shape he comes back in next season.
Stanton still has elite power and hits the ball with top exit velocities.
If he can keep himself healthy, the Yankees will have two of the best power bats in Stanton and Aaron Judge.
