After a 2-3 start to the 2024 NFL regular season, the New York Jets have decided to shake things up, with the team officially parting ways with head coach Robert Saleh following the loss to Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 in London, England.
Although Saleh has seemingly been on the hot seat for quite some time in New York, and many believed the team might fire him if the Jets got off to a poor start to the 2024 campaign, the move was still a bit surprising, and now some are digging around to see why it was made while the players try to adjust to defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.
In the aftermath of Saleh getting fired, there have been some mixed reactions, with some believing it was the right move and others thinking the franchise may have made a decision based on superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ relationship with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Regardless of why the decision was made, the fact of the matter is that the team is moving on, and everyone must fall in line, even those who felt fondly about Saleh, like star wide receiver Garrett Wilson via Jets Video.

If the Jets start winning games consistently and begin living up to their expectations for this season, Saleh’s firing will be quickly forgotten, as it was clearly the right move.
However, if the team continues to struggle from week to week, things could get very ugly in New York, with a lot of finger-pointing likely occurring.
