The Los Angeles Dodgers’ roster is full of legends, former Cy Young and MVP award winners, and future Hall-of-Famers.
It’s probably why they have been so successful in recent seasons, including multiple Championship Series and World Series appearances since 2017; with one title in 2020.
2020 NL MVP and 2021 World Series champ Freddie Freeman has played in a Dodgers uniform since 2022, and his stint has been as successful as one would expect.
If we add up the brilliant career he had in Atlanta, he has accumulated some great totals.
The 2023 campaign has seen him reach two incredibly cool milestones.
“Freddie Freeman is the 98th player in major league history with 2,000 or more hits and 300 or more home runs. He crossed both milestones this season,” Dodgers insider Fabian Ardaya tweeted.

In an era in which platoons, injuries, and continual roster maneuvering don’t allow hitters too many playing-time opportunities unless they are extremely good, racking up 2,000 hits is almost more impressive than hitting 300 home runs, which is incredibly hard to do.
Freeman has been able to do both.
An unusual type of hitter these days, the Dodgers star is more likely to hit .300 than hit 30 round-trippers in any given season.
He has done the former in seven of his last eight seasons; and the latter in three of the last eight.
He has always accumulated hits by virtue of his phenomenal contact ability, which is why he is slashing a cool .317/.397/.549 when he is three months shy of turning 34.
Freeman is very, very good at what he does and still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
