Frank Vogel has been through a lot over the past few years.
He has been a head NBA coach for four different teams in the past 11 seasons, heading the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and most recently, the Phoenix Suns.
Many believed he was going to be a great fit with the Suns, and he did lead them to a 6 seed in the playoffs.
However, his tenure with the team didn’t last long, as they were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round and he was let go.
The Suns had one of the best rosters in the league, but for one reason or another, they couldn’t figure it out when it mattered most.
Vogel was left without an NBA job until very recently, as Evan Sidery pointed out on X.
The Dallas Mavericks have signed him on as a consultant, reuniting Vogel with Jason Kidd.

Sidery highlighted their connection from their joint time at the Lakers, Kidd was one of Vogel’s assistants.
The tide has changed, as Kidd is now the head coach, and Vogel is on his staff.
This could be a humiliating demotion for some, but at the end of the day, Vogel is still involved in the NBA in some capacity.
Plus, the Mavericks are building something special, so it’s not surprising that Vogel might want to be a part of this organization.
Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson will bond together and try to bring this team their first championship since the days of Dirk Nowitzki.
